Getting started with Godet
Everything you need to keep your fleet’s log from today: first steps, installing on each device and answers to common questions.
Print it for the workshop or send it to your team.
Start in 5 steps
Create your garage
“Create my garage” on godet.app: your name, your email, then the company name, country and currency. The 15-day trial starts right away, no credit card needed.
Add your machines
“+ Machine”: a short code (PE-01), the type, make, model and the current hour meter. Two due dates are created automatically: service and the annual safety check. Already have a log in Excel? Import it in one go (menu → Excel).
Set the due dates
In the machine card → Due dates: service every 250 or 500 h, inspection every year… Godet works out the next date from each machine’s real usage and turns it orange, then red.
Log the first job
The “Entry” button in the machine card or in workshop mode: type, date, hour meter, costs, photos. Linked to a due date, the entry renews it automatically.
Invite your team
Settings → Team: one invitation link per person, with their role (admin, mechanic, operator). Then stick a QR label in each cab (menu → QR labels).
Install the app
Godet installs straight from the website, no app store needed. An icon appears on your home screen and Godet opens full screen, like an app. Updates are automatic.
With Safari
- Open godet.app in Safari and sign in.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”.
- Tap “Add”: the Godet icon appears on your home screen.
With Chrome
- Open godet.app in Chrome and sign in.
- Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right.
- Tap “Install app” (or “Add to Home screen”).
- Confirm: the Godet icon appears with your apps.
With Chrome or Edge
- Open godet.app and sign in.
- Click the install icon at the right of the address bar (a screen with an arrow).
- Click “Install”.
- Godet opens in its own window and shows up in the Start menu or the Dock.
Firefox and other browsers work too: just bookmark godet.app.
Day to day
Read the hour meter
Machine card → “Hours”, or the “Hours” button in workshop mode. The meter can only go up. Tip: “Read from a photo” reads the figure for you; check it before saving.
Log quickly on site
The “Workshop mode” button shows the fleet as a list, without 3D: big buttons for an entry or a reading, even with gloves on. A scanned QR label opens the right machine directly.
No network
On a device you’ve used before, the garage opens even offline. Entries and readings are sent automatically when the network is back (badge “2 entries waiting”).
Fix a mistake
An entry can be edited or withdrawn with a reason. Once withdrawn it stays visible, struck through: that’s what makes the log count during an inspection.
Know what a machine costs
Machine card → Costs: parts, labour and downtime over 12 months, month by month. The card’s overview also shows the cost per operating hour.
Print a log
Machine card menu → “Print the log”: the full log as a PDF, for an inspection, an appraisal or a sale.
Get reminded of due dates
Settings → Reminders: an email in the morning or a summary on Monday, only when there’s something to do.
Ask the assistant
The “Assistant” button at the top of the garage: “Which services are overdue?”, “How much did CH-02 cost this year?”, “How do I invite a mechanic?”.
Know where a machine is
Switch on entry location (Settings → Company). The machine card then shows the last known location, with a link to the map.
A machine is sold
Machine card menu → “Archive machine”: it leaves the showroom, its log stays viewable and printable (Settings → Archived machines).
After the trial
Settings → Subscription: choose the plan by number of machines (from CHF 29 a month). Without a subscription the garage becomes read-only: nothing is deleted.
Need help?
First ask the garage assistant: it knows Godet and your fleet. Otherwise write to us; an idea for an improvement? That’s what the ideas box is for.
